Job Description

This position is responsible for promoting the Indianapolis Healthy Start program, providing outreach services & providing home visitation services with selected families. Responsible for assisting women into early prenatal care, promoting the birth of a healthy baby, encouraging preventive child health care, improving and enhancing parenting skills, discouraging unhealthy behaviors such as smoking, alcohol, and drug abuse, and decreases the incidence of child abuse and neglect. Responsibilities include serving as a link between the family & the community by helping the family access health & social services that exist in the community to meet their needs. A High School diploma or equivalent required. Valid Indiana driver’s license and access to own transportation required for in county travel. Candidate must be bilingual in Spanish and English

Job Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent, demonstrates literacy skills

History of receiving and maintaining employment

Certified Community Health Worker or ability to become certified within 6 months

Providing informal counseling, support and follow up
