Job Description

Under general supervision and direction, performs clinical laboratory procedures.  Performs high complexity procedures as defined in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 at the Public Health Clinical Laboratories.  Performs moderate complexity procedures as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 at the Public Health Clinical Laboratories. Supports the assessment of health, one of the core functions of public health, by diagnosing and investigating health problems and health hazards in the community. 

 

Job Requirements

Testing Personnel must meet one of the following requirements:

1. Have earned a doctoral, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution (CLIA, 6171) and 3-4 years of experience in an environmental, clinical, or analytical laboratory.

OR

2.  Have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution (CLIA, 6171) and 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory performing CLIA Moderate or High complexity testing.

1. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, medical technology or related field, required 3-4 years of experience in an environmental, clinical or analytical laboratory,

OR

2. Current license/certification as Medical Technologist (ASCP or AMT), Clinical Laboratory Technologist (NCA) or equivalent certification and 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory performing CLIA Moderate or High Complexity testing.
