Job Description

The Community Outreach Worker is responsible for providing outreach services within a designated geographic service areas and violence prevention support to assigned departments within HHC as well as collaborating organizations. For the purposes of the grant, the worker will engage youth, families and community partners in specific Indianapolis Housing Agency (IHA) living communities to:

  • Promote the personal, social, cultural and educational development of young people,
  • Promote the safety and overall well-being of all family members in IHA dwellings,
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of safe and thriving communities.

 

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates should have high school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of two years of experience in community outreach and engagement. Candidates with a a bachelor’s degree in public health, social work or a related discipline are preferred. Training or experience in violence prevention/behavioral health preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and valid car insurance.
