Job Description

Provide executive administrative support to the Director of Public Health. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to provide information and service to a wide range of internal and external contacts on behalf of the Director.  Works independently performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative duties. Serves as the liaison between external partners and senior management teams on behalf of the Director; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts. Provides assistance in the coordination of activities of Public Health Administration and the Bureaus of Population Health and Environmental Health. 

Job Requirements

Candidates should have a master’s degree (preferably) with additional business office setting courses and training.  A minimum of 3 years administrative experience reporting directly to senior management.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to create systems following up on pending issue and for filing and retrieving documentation or electronic communication.

  • Ability to manage simultaneous project, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of corporate and divisional staff and management.

  • Ability to relate well to the public, personable and good telephone etiquette.

  • Maintains confidentiality of privileged information.
