Job Description

Manages daily and overall program activities relevant to the prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases. Serves as advisor in overall program design, implementation, and evaluation. Utilizes policy, system, and environmental approaches and strategies as appropriate.

Job Requirements

  • Such skills and knowledge acquired through completion of a Master’s degree in nutrition, public health, health education, nursing, or a related field and 1 year experience in program planning and development; Or completion of a bachelor degree in nutrition, public health, health education, nursing, or a related field and two years experience in program planning and development. Knowledge of:

         - cardiovascular disease and leading risk factors, their etiology

            and contributing factors.

         - statistics and epidemiology; health issues including health delivery system

         - how the food environment contributes to risk for cardiovascular diseases.

  • Nursing applicants must be eligible for license as a professional nurse within the state of      Indiana. Dietitians must be registered by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics/ Commission on Dietetic Registration. Indiana certification by the Health Professions Bureau may be necessary.


  • If Health Educator, a Certified Health Education Specialist is preferred.
  • Current Indiana driver’s license and use of automobile.
